About The Show
By Thursday the week has worn down enough for something heavier, and Thursday Night Deep Cuts leans into it. Joost Hendriks spends the small hours on guitar music that does not fit anywhere in daylight: slow blues, late period rock, instrumental passages that run for minutes before a vocal shows up, and live recordings where you can hear the room as much as the band.
The show is deliberately patient. Tracks are played in full, including the long intros and the fade outs that radio normally cuts away from. Joost introduces where a recording came from, which session it belongs to, and occasionally why a particular version beats the one everybody knows, then gets out of the way again.
It works best loud with headphones on, or quietly in a room where nothing else is happening. Thursday Night Deep Cuts airs every Thursday from 00:00 to 03:00 on Network Radio.
