How to Listen to Network Radio, Wherever You Are

Browser, phone, smart speaker or car. A plain guide to getting the stream running on whatever you are holding, plus the three fixes that solve...
Published on: 30.09.2026

Network Radio is a streaming station, which means there is no frequency to find and nothing to tune. If you have an internet connection you already have everything you need. Still, the number of ways to actually get the stream playing has quietly multiplied over the years, and not all of them are obvious.

Here is the short version, device by device.

In your browser

The simplest route. Open the site and press play on the player at the top of the page. It works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on mobile, with no plugin and no account.

One thing worth knowing: most browsers block audio from starting on its own, so the first play always has to come from you. After that the stream keeps running even if you move to another tab. If the audio stops when you switch tabs on a phone, that is your phone saving battery rather than anything breaking. Locking the screen with the tab open usually keeps it alive.

On your phone

The browser player works fine on both iOS and Android. If you listen daily, it is worth adding the site to your home screen so it opens like an app and skips the address bar.

On iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the site in Chrome, tap the three dot menu and choose Add to Home screen. The icon behaves like any other app from then on, and the player loads straight away.

Through a smart speaker

If your speaker supports casting or Bluetooth, the easiest method is to start the stream on your phone and send the audio across. That works with essentially every speaker on the market and requires no setup beyond pairing.

For a more permanent arrangement, most smart speakers let you add a custom radio stream through their companion app. The setup differs by brand, but the principle is the same everywhere: find the custom station or add by URL option, paste the stream address, and give it a name you will actually remember when you ask for it out loud.

In the car

Car listening is the single most common way people hear us, and it is almost always the phone doing the work. Connect over Bluetooth or plug in for CarPlay or Android Auto, start the stream before you drive off, and leave it alone.

A word on data. An hour of streaming uses roughly the same as scrolling social media for the same time, which is to say not very much. Long motorway stretches with patchy coverage are more of a problem than the data itself. The stream will usually recover on its own once signal returns, but if it does not, a quick pause and play sorts it out.

Knowing what is on

The schedule page shows the full week, and you can filter it by day to see exactly what is running and when. The footer carries a rolling view of the current show plus the next few, which is the faster option if you only want to know what is coming up in the next couple of hours.

Every show links through to the presenter, so if you hear something you like at half past nine on a Thursday, you can find out who was responsible.

If something is not working

In almost every case the fix is one of three things: reload the page, check that the device is not muted independently of the browser, or switch from mobile data to wifi. Between them those cover the overwhelming majority of problems.

If none of it helps, tell us. A message with your device, your browser and roughly what time it happened is genuinely useful, and far more likely to get fixed than a report that it does not work.
